Katherine Kersten, Center of the American Experiment scholar, will expose the ongoing overreach of the Metropolitan Council. Katherine has studied and written at length about this un-elected governmental body whose planning directs local growth and whose decisions can override those of local governments. The Council has taxing powers and the fourth largest budget in the state. It's the target of legislators who believe that, at a minimum, members should be elected to this powerful board. Here's one of Katherine's early Star Tribune columns on the subject.
