Senate District 42 is your BPOU if you live in...
-
Plymouth (other than Precinct 15)
-
Medicine Lake
-
Maple Grove - Precinct 12
We encourage and welcome you to participate!
If you've never been to a political party meeting, there are some terms you may not be familiar with (like BPOU - Basic Political Organizational Unit ), but really, the process, in the MN Republican party, is organized into easily understandable, locally organized units that participate in a recurring 2-year process cycle. The diagram above illustrates the biennial cycle of events that promote Republican Party participation at all levels, from neighborhood to statewide
This biennial process cycle is designed to engage and recruit interested citizens with common-sense values to participate locally in the business of the Republican Party through their BPOU. To better understand the organization of our BPOU, Senate District 42 (SD 42), see What's a BPOU? for more detail.
We make it easy, inviting and accessible for you to participate in your precinct, in Senate District 42, in Congressional District 3 and in the MN GOP statewide. It's not mysterious; we don't have smoke-filled backrooms, but you have to participate and engage to make a difference. You have the power to act.
Whether you are a newcomer or a long-term participant, you can be as involved as desired based on your energy and agency. If you believe in the common-sense policy and governance advocated by the MN GOP (Republican Party), we welcome your participation.
That doesn't mean you have to agree with EVERY issue. In fact, a long-standing hallmark of MN Republicans is that we believe in active discussion and debate on policy and process to ensure our party platforms chart the best course to deal with the issues of our time.
Though Plymouth has long been a moderately Republican majority, the trend switch in the past decade. But we believe that the pendulum that swung left is returning to the common sense center, which is describes the positions of most SD 42 Republicans. In many cases, the media has labeled Republicans and our commonsense policies as extremist. But with public sentiment widely distrustful of the media, those false narratives have been debunked.
If you are a mainstream, classic liberal, center-left Democrat, we believe the leaders of your party have left you. Trust their voting record more than their words to judge if they best support your values.
Once again, it's up to you.
You have the power to act!
