July 26, 2025: From the Desk of Chairman Alex Plechash
Dear Minnesota Republicans,
It’s been a busy and telling week—and one that reinforces why our work matters now more than ever.
Across the state, Republicans are organizing, recruiting candidates, and preparing to win. From Woodbury to Wright County, from business leaders to grassroots volunteers, we’re building something strong. And the contrast with the DFL couldn’t be clearer.
GOP Momentum, DFL Meltdown
While the DFL is busy protecting convicted felons, embracing socialists, and fighting among themselves—we’re laser-focused on electing serious leaders and delivering for Minnesota families.
Let’s review:
DFL’s Convicted Senator
Nicole Mitchell is now officially a convicted felon. Instead of demanding her immediate resignation, DFL leaders stalled for months—hiding evidence, delaying her trial, and using her vote to pass tax hikes, a radical social agenda, and to prop up their razor-thin majority. Even now, she refuses to resign until August—just to collect another taxpayer-funded paycheck. Disgraceful.
We are ready to win back that seat and restore honest, law-abiding representation to Woodbury.
DFL Embraces Socialism
The DFL just endorsed Senator Omar Fateh, a Democrat Socialist with a trail of controversy, for Mayor of Minneapolis. This is a man connected to campaign misconduct, campaign cash funneled to nonprofits, and cozy ties to Feeding Our Future defendants. He and other DSA-aligned members are now pushing a citywide income tax and extremist legislation like the Uber/Lyft mandates that will destroy jobs and crush small businesses.
Their party is fractured. The DFL chair said they "welcome DSA members"—but even current Mayor Jacob Frey is openly rejecting their endorsement.
DFL Fraud Scandals Expand
This week, Rep. Kristin Robbins and House Republicans formally requested a federal audit of Minnesota DHS after new reports of Medicaid and housing fraud topping $1 BILLION.
Minnesota has become a national poster child for government waste—and the Walz administration continues to turn a blind eye.
Our Party Is Ready
While Democrats are in disarray, the Republican Party of Minnesota is getting stronger:
We’ve rebuilt financial and operational stability at the state level.
We’re opening new field offices, hiring strong staff, and preparing to contest races in every corner of the state.
We have exceptional candidates stepping up in both the Woodbury and Wright County special elections—two seats we are confident we can win.
Republicans across the state—from local business leaders to our BPOU teams—are stepping up to share our message of freedom, accountability, and common sense.
Just this week, business owners like Luke in Ely spoke out in support of the Big Beautiful Bill, which delivers tax relief, transparency, and immigration enforcement Minnesotans overwhelmingly support.
And voters are noticing. Democrats are losing their grip, and we are gaining ground.
Final Word
This is the moment we’ve been preparing for.
The DFL is exposing itself daily—on crime, education, taxes, and ethics. Voters are tired of fraud, excuses, and a radical agenda that doesn’t reflect Minnesota’s values.
We are the party of service over self, law and order, educational excellence, and economic opportunity. We are proud of our country—and proud to lead.
Let’s keep building, organizing, and preparing to take Minnesota back in 2026.
